Yashwant Deshmukh

Born in Maharashtra in 1963, Yashwant Deshmukh, currently based in Mumbai, completed his BFA from Sir. JJ School Of Art, Mumbai. In a career spanning close to two decades, the talented artist has crossed many milestones. In 1993, he won Bendre- Husain Scholarship Award, Mumbai. In 2001 he was Invited to participate at: "3rd Biennial Bose Pacia Modern Exhibition, New York(USA)".

Among his major solo shows are the ones at Gallery Jean Cocteau, Alliance Francaise de Bombay, in association with Cymroza Gallery, Mumbai (1996); Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1997, 2003); at Bombay Art Gallery, Mumbai (2005).

He has participated in a number of group shows, including 'Seven For Seven' – exhibition of paintings by seven International artists, sponsored by Gallery-7, Hong Kong (1994); '50 years of Art In Mumbai' organized by the National Gallery Of Modern Art, Mumbai (1997); participate 'The miniature Format show by Sans Tache Art Gallery, Mumbai (1998); 'IDEA AND IMAGES' by NGMA, Mumbai (2004), and 43rd 'National Exhibition' Organized by Lalit Kala Academy, at Bangalore (2001).
