Rita Jhunjunwala

Rita is a Kolkata born artist. She now lives and works in Delhi .

A winner of Soviet Nehru Award in 1969, a finalist at the 35th Grand Prix Internationale de Peinture de Deauville and 21st Grand Prix of cote d'Azur , Cannes , France and many such feathers in cap, Rita, in all her paintings, captures the rare glimpses of gods in meditative moods

"The ancients say that the Awakened One gains a peace so profound and overwhelming that his eyes, his gestures, his entire being exude peace; none in his presence remain untransformed. The Buddha, to me, is that Peace and in this series of paintings, I have sought to capture the same through him,'' says Rita.
