G. Subramanian

An artist who has traversed many routes like his early pen and ink drawing infused with typical calligraphy, intricately woven with myth and tradition. His current series of collages are constructed by reinterpreting the printed images and texts from popular magazines. A complex transformation takes place through the artist's intervention. The puppet like icons have a child like naivete, the iconography is retained to evoke popular divinities. The abstract background highlights the complex imagery.

The artist has won several awards and held many solo and group shows in India and abroad.
