Buwa Shete

Born in 1960, Buwa is an artist with a penchant for the feminine form. The female protagonist is at the focus of most of his canvases. His contemporary modernist figures are done in rough strong brush strokes. Buwa is unafraid of size, & flirts outrageously with color. Strong reds and blues are often seen in his work.

Buwa completed art from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalya, Pune in 1984 and later worked with add agencies as a creative director & illustrator. He has won the national award & also an award from London Advertising in 1997.

He has participated in several solo & group shows & his paintings are in several collections in india & abroad.
