A unique painter, Sidharth creates natural pigments from varied sources such as gold and silver ore, fruits like pomegranate and blackberry, flowers like snake-flower, leaves, roots, wood and tree bark.

Born to a humble Sikh family as Harjinder Singh at Raikot village in Punjab in 1956, Sidharth was brought up by his mother, a Gurbani singer, and father who was a peasant. Under the guidance of Tara Mistry, he learnt how to paint.

He has spent time living in a monastery as a monk at Dharamshala and with the renowned Indian painter, Sir Shobha Singh.
